Late 1960s – 1980s | The Foundation Roots (Jamaica)

Established by Trevor "Daddy Lees" Lee Sr. in St. Thomas, Jamaica, Lee’s Unlimited Sound System rose to national prominence. The sound became a respected cultural staple, featuring legendary foundation artists including Beenie Man, Papa San, and Johnny Ringo, alongside live national radio broadcasts.

Late 1990s – 2007 | Touring, Radio & "Sight & Sound"

Launched the U.S. division of Lee's Unlimited and developed a signature performance style blending multi-genre DJing with live crowd interaction under the official brand Chip Lee The Performa. During this international touring era across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean, he hosted the "JAH Guide" radio program on South Florida's Riddims 94.5 and co-created "Sight & Sound," a pioneering multimedia entertainment experience combining live audio, video mixing, and cultural programming.

2012 – 2019 | Festival & Concert Stages (California)

Expanded the Lee Tafari brand to Northern California, collaborating with acclaimed reggae guitarist Tuff Lion and the Upliftment Band. He became a staple of the West Coast cultural scene, featuring at major events like the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival and the Love Party concert series.

1980s – Mid-1990s | South Florida Expansion (Miami, FL)

Trevor Lee Jr. relocated to South Florida, immersing himself in Miami's vibrant Caribbean music culture. He co-founded City Hawk Sound and later joined the renowned Riddim Force Sound, solidifying his reputation as an elite selector, open-format entertainer, and crowd favorite.

2008 – 2012 | The Roots Revival & Stewardship (Jamaica)

Returned to Jamaica to focus on songwriting and conscious roots reggae production, emerging as recording artist Lee Tafari. In 2010, he officially assumed global stewardship of the family legacy following the passing of founder Trevor "Daddy Lees" Lee Sr., preserving the authentic traditions of reggae music and sound system culture.

2020 – Present | Global Radio & Metro Atlanta Market

Relocated to Georgia to establish the Lee’s Unlimited Music Group parent company, expanding his global media reach as the host of "Keep On Playing" on I&I Radio (2025). After establishing a strong presence through high-profile entertainment residencies at Addictive Blended Flavas and Caribbean Fiesta, he currently commands the Metro Atlanta market at Escovitchez under his Chip Lee The Performa brand—pioneering the signature "Friday Mini Concert" experience that merges open-format DJing, live percussion, and multi-genre clean vibes.
